Which areas are near the Westend .... Bloomsbury etc???
What websites offer good deals on short stays.
Many ThanksLondon hotels - near west end?
There is a place called Russell Square that has many hotels around it, and the surrounding streets. It's within easy walking distance of all the sights and shows, and has an Underground station.
If your budget is no object, then there are hotels on the Strand, in Leicester Square, and around Covent Garden that are very close to the shows.London hotels - near west end?
I would opt for Covent Garden as this is where most of the musicals are and if not, are easy to get to from there. Bloomsbury is full of hotels most of which are decent but there's not much else there and it's quite a long walk to Holborn tube depending on where exactly you are.
I would recommend booking the Strand Palace Hotel on the Strand (2 mins from Lion King and Joseph). It's a decent 3 star and I have stayed there 4 times and never had a complaint. I have booked it through www.laterooms.com and through www.lastminute.com both of which are good sites for competitive prices. There really aren't any other hotels that central for the price. I usually get a single room for 拢75 a night.
Bonnington hotel, President hotel, Rosewood hotel, Ruskin hotel, Russell hotel, Royal national hotel, Tavistock hotel, these are all in the Russell Square area Bloomsbury and are central to west-end and city. Hope this helps you.
Have a look at Enjoy England's 'accommodation finder' all results are within London and prices are listed in ascending order.

Hope you find somewhere great to stay.
Piccadilly Palace Hotel is great for theatres, etc and easy to get to because it is right next to Piccadilly underground station.
Have a nice trip.
I use the Tavistock in Bloomsbury. It's more than adequate and inexpensive, especially if you ask for a weekend deal.

Strand Palace is an old chestnut, that is in a great location. The single rooms are like army barracks.
