Gosh, there are lots of excellent hotels and inns in Key West....check Travelocity. This website has a ton of useful information, too: http://www.keywest.com/

Be sure that the hotel you pick is in Old Town, the historical part of Key West. Everything worth seeing there is within walking distance.Could you recommend a good value 5/4 star hotel in Key West in Florida? please advise on best locations in are?
Not sure if you are wanting your privacy, but if so I would consider renting a vacation rental by owner. One great site for doing this is KeyVacationRentals.com . Many of the vacation rentals are very affordable stocked with kayaks, fishing gear, and private spectacular views. Below is a link for them. Good Luck!

  • Key West Cheap Hotel 3/10/09-3/14/09?

I realize that key west and inexpensive dont go together, but i am planning a trip to the keys for myself and my girlfriend and we are tight on funds. We wouldnt be planning the trip if we didnt have enough, but i would love to save a few bucks on room arrangements. Most of the places we found for March 10 2009 - March 14 2009 were about $150-$250 a night. Does anyone know anywhere that would be cheaper? Im not too picky, just would rather spend the money on food and drink than sleeping in a bed. We are 22 and want to be close to the bar scene, so no where outside key west, but it doesnt have to be quiet or loud or romantic or family oriented, just semi-close to Duval Street. Please HELP!!!! :-)Key West Cheap Hotel 3/10/09-3/14/09?

Can you find a reasonable hotel in new york city on west 42nd street?

Well, considering that even a bunk in a youth hostel in NYC can cost as much as $100 a night, I usually stay at one of the hotels offered by the NY Inns Hotel Group. They have three very nice hotels in the Murray Hill, Union Square and Upper West Side neighborhoods, and the rooms are nice, service is good, and they're affordable, too! Check out the link below to see their webpage, and, no, I don't work for them or anything like that, I'm just a fan.

    And, finally, as to what to do while you're in big, bad NYC, check out the last excellent link below for ';Things To Do In New York City.';

I love this site, becasue it's affordable, and you can find condos with one or two bedrooms.

We went to Grand Cayman Islands and stayed at a condo we found on VRBO, and it was wonderfull. It was less than a hotel, and my daughter got her own bedroom, and we had a whole kitchen, and two bathrooms. • Key West, Fl hotel near Duval?

Im looking for a hotel near Duval street. I'll be staying two nights. Something under $200.00 4 people per room. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!Key West, Fl hotel near Duval?
Go to keywest.com.......We go to Marathon every year which is 90 minutes from Key West. Going in June for 2 weeks!!! Can't wait...love it there!!!!Key West, Fl hotel near Duval?
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS seek to book at the Howard Johnson. I promise it is within walking distance of Duval, has nice rooms, and will walk you past several nice restaurants on your way to Duval (which also sports several key restaurants and nightclubs of it's own). Also, remember, you are welcome to ';toke up'; before eating in most restaurants in Key West. Enjoy! -john in Iowa

Also - this is not YOUR NORMAL HOJO! the pool and hot-tub are magnificent, all the rooms have ceiling fans, and you will not, I repeat, NOT, be dissappointed.
Hello there, you have to check out the ';Duval House';. It is right on Duval Street and so close to everything that you can walk and not drive. It is beautiful, private, and very affordable. Check out the rooms and prices on their website. I hope you like it!!!

Does anyone know of a clean Hotel/Motel in South/West Seattle with hourly rates?

You probably can't get cheaper than a Motel 6. There are a couple of them in the general vacinity you mention.

    20651 Military Road (206) 824-9902

    16500 Pacific Highway South (206) 246-4101

They're always inexpensive, clean.......and basic!Does anyone know of a clean Hotel/Motel in South/West Seattle with hourly rates?
I don't know of any hotels/motels that rent hourly as that just promotes prostitution or illegal drug activity. Plus even if they did charge hourly it probably wouldn't be much less than just paying for a full day.

You really can't go wrong with La Quinta hotels. I've stayed at several all over WA, BC, CA and they've always been surprisingly nice for the price. Check their site for the area you want to stay - http://www.lq.com/lq/proxySearch.do?mapP鈥?/a>Does anyone know of a clean Hotel/Motel in South/West Seattle with hourly rates?
The only places with hourly rates are on Aurora Blvd, and guess who they're catering to.

In NYC Upper West Manhatten's Riverside Tower Hotel on Riverside Drive and 80th safe?

I am looking into this place to be close to the cruise terminal. They say it is a residential safe neighborhood. It overlooks the hudson. Does anyone know about this?In NYC Upper West Manhatten's Riverside Tower Hotel on Riverside Drive and 80th safe?
I don't know the hotel (it used to be a Columbia U dormitory and the rooms are very small), but the neighborhood is great and the view from the hotel overlooking the water is beautiful. Read what the previous guests think of it - most of them seem to have been pleased and would stay there again. Look at the candid photos - room looks tiny - will that bother you? Then again, your room aboard the ship may not be much bigger. Have a great time.

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-鈥?/a>In NYC Upper West Manhatten's Riverside Tower Hotel on Riverside Drive and 80th safe?
Riverside Drive is one of the fancy areas of NYC. The late predecessor to the current Manhattan District Attorney, Frank Hogan lived on Riverside Drive just a few blocks north of 80th St. I would not recommend a late night stroll in the park (especially since it is illegal to be in any NYC park after midnight), but the area is safe.

The Truman Hotel. The hotel is situated a few steps from famous Duval street, so you can enjoy the nightlife and you room is very close, but not so close that you can hear the noise - it is very quiet hotel.

I also liked the breakfest - it is served outside in the courtyard of the hotel. This is the best value for the money at about $129 night. OR The Ocean Key Resort, also a great deal in the same price range. I use tripadvisor.com a lot , try it it may give you some other ideas. Have fun and congrats

Is there a law in west virginia that hotel rooms must be cleaned every three days?

This sounds like a question that has some background...

I searched and searched, and could find very little about West Virginia hotel (usually called ';innkeeper';) laws. (Usually a county would determine a code for innkeepers that would be more descriptive than the state would.)

From other states' legislation, it is very unlikely that this is a law (I could not find any other state with a law like this.)

Here is some general information about hotel liability, but I'm not exactly sure this is the direction you were taking with the question...hope it helps.

I think you are looking for the Farmer's Daughter hotel located at 115 South Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles 90036.

Any tips on vacationing to Key West, Florida? Hotel, entertainment, etc.?

For hotel, I suggest avoiding the brand name places and finding one of the really nice small B%26amp;B's. You'll save money and usually they are just beautiful. My wife and I always used to stay at the Nassau House on Fleming Street. Really easy walking distance to Duval, Mallory Square, shops and restaurants, but far enough off the beaten track to make it quiet when you need it to be. There are loads of these places down there, try googling ';Key West Bed and Breakfast';.

For entertainment you have to go see the Sunset Festival every night in Mallory Square. The street entertainers, food and drink are all a spectacle and the sunset is always nice to see. It's better on nights when there are no cruise ships as they can get in the way.

Take the Conch Train to get the layout of the island and the primo things to see. We always rent scooters to get around now we know the place and if you don't fancy that you can rent bikes, 3 wheel mini-cars or golf cart type vehicles. It's worthwhile to have some way of getting around during the day.

There are dozens of watersports places all over the island and you can do parasailing, sailing, powerboats, jet skis, fishing trips, either with lots of other people or by private charter (which we prefer), trips to the Dry Tortugas and pretty much any water related activity. We've done the jet ski safari a couple of times which is a guided tour of locations around Key West where you ride your own jet ski and follow a guide. I really like that.

There are a couple of interesting museums on the Island. Mel Fisher's Treasure museum is fascinating and, when it's open, the Little White House is cool too. There are great art galleries too as Key West attracts a lot of artists.

There are dozens and dozens of places to eat, but I recommend avoiding the tourist traps on Duval for dinner. The food is variable and they are all about turning tables fast and making the most cash. You'll do better to get off the beaten track for your evening meal, better food and better value. Our favorite place where we go every time is Michael's on Margaret Street just a couple of blocks from the Nassau House. Michael was one of the founding executive chefs at Morton's the Chicago Steakhouse chain. They do great beef, the world's best Chicken Cordon Bleu and some really really interesting fondue dishes. Everything on the menu we've tried has been astonishing. We prefer to sit at the outside bar which is in a really relaxing tropical courtyard. They've had the same bartender for over 11 years and he is a wealth of information about what to do and see on the island. He's also a world traveler during the offseason so just a really interesting guy to talk to. On the opposite side of Duval there are some really interesting island places to eat including Kelly's which is owned by Kelly McGillis. Terrific food. During the day you also must go to the little cuban cafe on the corner of Simonton and either United or South Street (sorry, can't remember which). It's basically a window next to a convenience store which serves the most incredible roast pork sandwiches anywhere. You sit on the proch of the convenience store and eat them while watching the world go by. Fantastic.

Go to Key West and Enjoy it. It's a great little place.Any tips on vacationing to Key West, Florida? Hotel, entertainment, etc.?
It all depends on what you like to do. We are famous for our drinking and partying. We have various types of bars that have various types of entertainment music wise. We have strip clubs, clothing optional bar. We have great sunsets, watersports, family activities. There are many nice bed and breakfasts around town. We, of course, have Sloppy Joe's, Margaritaville, Hog's Breath Saloon - all the tourist spots. We have shopping.

As a local, we enjoy eating at Caroline's on Duval Street, it's open air, you can sit and do some great people watching and their food is great (best jambalaya on the island) and they are reasonably priced.

We have art galleries - great live music - we pretty much have anything anybody wants to do - there is a great variety of things to do here.Any tips on vacationing to Key West, Florida? Hotel, entertainment, etc.?

Visiting Toronto next summer! I need helping finding a reasonably priced hotel in West Mall - Etobicoke area.

    Hi,

My wife and I will be traveling to Toronto in our car next summer and need a reasonably priced hotel or motel to stay while we're there. My friend Wes lives on The West Mall in Etobicoke and we would, preferably, like to stay near there but we don't mind driving 10 minutes or whatever to get to his place.

The idea is for us to use our car in Toronto as little as possible, relying mainly on the TTC to get around, especially to the downtown area.

My parents stayed at the Valhalla Inn (on the East Mall, just a short walk from the West Mall) a few years ago on vacation but it was kinda pricey. We hope to stay for a week, maybe two weeks?

    Thanks.

We don't really need anything fancy and don't mind anything on the cheap side like Days Inn.

Visiting Toronto next summer! I need helping finding a reasonably priced hotel in West Mall - Etobicoke area.
Ask your friend Wes to check the motels along Dundas street, in Mississauaga, just to the west of where he lives. There are two or three in a row that are budegt priced and they are less than 10 minutes from his address. One is called the York Gate motel.

You can get a discount if you stay that long, ask about it.

Forget the Vahalla , it;'s way too expensive , for a two week stay. Nice place to eat though.

Here is a tip, you can park for free, at the Toronto Transit Commission's Kipling Subway station parking lot. That station is less than a 10 minute drive from motels I mentioned.

Buy a '; Day Pass '; from the ticket collector at the Kipling station, or buy a '; 7 day pass ';. Either way, the TTC pass is the very best way to get around Toronto. as it alows unlimited use, all day on any route, bus, streetcar, or subway.

Here is the TTC website link :

    Go here :

Enjoy your visit to my city.

Looking for a decent, clean hotel in New York City- Upper west side. I know prices are HIGH in NYC?

it would be nice to find something less than $400.00Looking for a decent, clean hotel in New York City- Upper west side. I know prices are HIGH in NYC?
It's so refreshing to see this question! Most people want to stay in Manhattan's best neighborhoods, and they want to pay less than $100! Your question, by contrast, is quite realistic.

The good news is that there are lots of hotels in the Upper West Side that are below your price-point. In fact, as long as you're not targeting the high-end brands, nearly ALL of them are.

The first link below is a New York sponsored site that lists hotels in the neighborhood you want. Nearly all of them are less than $400.

Incidentally, the Upper West Side is one of the very best neighborhoods in the city. Specifically, anywhere in the 70's (meaning 70th through 79th Streets) is fantastic, especially those close to Central Park. The Comfort Inn, for example, is literally just feet away from the park, and the price certainly rings in under your parameter.

Enjoy your trip to New York! We look forward to having you!

Kango TravelerLooking for a decent, clean hotel in New York City- Upper west side. I know prices are HIGH in NYC?
If its the Upper West Side you want its the Upper West Side you should have. Feel like a New Yorker not a Times Square Tourist.. The Olcott is clean, not particularly expensive near Central Park (same block as the Dakota) and near Lincoln Center as well. Good transportation to anywhere. East or West.

The Broadway Millenium is very nice, if you are looking for a decent hotel, however, depending on the type of room and when you are going ti can get a little pricey but it's certainly worth it it's a gorgeous place to stay, the staff are wonderful and very courteous!!
unless u go to like a holiday inn you probably won't find one tht cheap but a good hotel is the continental
    The Milburn or the Belleclaire

    x
You can try the Milburn Hotel, which is located at 242 W 76th St, on the Upper West Side. According to the first link below room there start off at $174 at night.

Eloping is best as a ';spur of the moment'; type thing. If you're planning stuff, then you remove the ';elopement'; out of the process.

Key West like most turist attractions have plenty of on-the-moment places to get married. You might start at the town-hall and ask the government. You might also learn what's needed. They might not like that type of thing in Key West, so you need to learn the laws and expectations. Ask their opinion on where too.

Then, when you get there, ask the locals. They know the place better than anyone.

    Good luck!

I stayed at a Hotel called the Park House in Shropshire.

The Room was a suite but we got it for 拢65.00 per night including a fantastic breakfast (not each for the whole suite per night).

Look at that bath if was fantastic and for two people - we had a great stay - plenty to do and the Restuarant was fantastic.

  • What is the best hotel to stay in in Key west FL , any hotel near the hot spots , or nice night hot spots?

As for the night spots, anywhere on Duval Street is fun and loud, full of energy. Since there isnt much ';beach'; land in the keys, I personally like The Reach hotel, or its sister property Marina. You didnt state when you are visiting, but either hotel is VERY nice but the Reach has the only exclusive beach. There is also Pier One (?) right by the actual Pier (of course) at the end of Duval Street.

Remember the Keys is just a BIG circle type Island, but everything at night happens on Duval Street, the closer you get to the pier (where you watch the sunset) the hotter the places get.

Hotel in west hollywood area in los angeles california?

i need a hotel for march 19-26 and i have looked over and over on numerous websites, can someone tell me by personal experience or a local person tell me about the hotels? not loking to pay more than 120 a nightHotel in west hollywood area in los angeles california?
i stayed at the best western about a year ago and it was decent, clean and no frills. i stayed at the econo lodge about 2 months ago and it was a little nicer than the best western so i would recommend it. i got a great deal on this website too, they gave an additional 10% for stays over 2 nights: http://www.travelcusehotels.com . the site is an aggregator which means it takes offers from various online sites and shows you the best deals. good luck!Hotel in west hollywood area in los angeles california?
The Ramada WeHo is right in the middle of everything, but thats about $10 more a night than you are looking for. I had some friends stay there, its not a bad place.

There is the Econolodge on Sunset that is pretty cheap, but I can't tell you from experience whether its decent or not.
College Guy, don't they teach you about supply and demand in college? The real estate here is expensive, and so are the hotels. Best Western Sunset Plaza is about your best bet in WeHo.
120 a night wont get you a motel 6 in west hollywood bro, you would be better off at one of the motels near LAX

What is the best hotel to stay at in the Los Angeles/West Hollywood area?

Magic castle. I think its pricy, but the doors open only when you ask, and all sorts of crazy stuff like that. Not to mention the location is perfect. Super close to anywhere you will wanna see, in most cases walking distance. What is the best hotel to stay at in the Los Angeles/West Hollywood area?
The No Tell MotelWhat is the best hotel to stay at in the Los Angeles/West Hollywood area?
In West Hollywood, there is a Ramada on Santa Monica Blvd. It's right in the middle of a lot of restaurants, bars and shops. I live right down the street from there and it seems like a popular place. There are also some motels close by like the Holloway Motel which I hear is nice. West Hollywood is a great place to stay because it is very central - if you want to rent a car, there is an Enterprise right near the hotel or if you want to take the bus, there are stops near there, too. Not far from Beverly Hills, Hollywood/Walk of Fame, theatres, malls and places to eat.

I need some information on Key West...is there an off season? What is the cheapest I can get a hotel?

Where is the happening place on Key West??I need some information on Key West...is there an off season? What is the cheapest I can get a hotel?
go to sloppy joes...get yourself a big drink with an umbrella in it...call a friend or family member...tell them to log on to the sloppyjoes.com website and look at the live cams...and wave at them to rub in what a good time you're having on vacation...

and...you must go have key lime pie on a stick...from Kermit's Key Lime Shoppe (down by the harbor)

depending on how adventurous you are...you can pick a random bed and breakfast to stay in...much cheaper than most hotels...I've never had a problem with any I've stayed in, but I have heard lots of stories.

You definitely want to stay within a few blocks of duval st and no more than 8 block from the west end of old town.

oh...I'm getting jealous...I think I need to plan a trip

Good luck!I need some information on Key West...is there an off season? What is the cheapest I can get a hotel?
Off season is generally the summer, as it is pretty hot in Key West May - September. Also, this is hurricane season. The cheaper hotels are the hotels near the airport like the Days Inn, Ramada, and Best Western.

The happening place is Duval Street and Mallory Square at sunset. There are lots of bars on Duval Street like Sloppy Joe's, Irish Kevin's, the Bear Bottom, etc. Most of the bars have bands or musicians during the afternoon and evenings. The sunset festival in Mallory Square is something you should definitely see. There are all kinds of street performers and quite a crowd. Oh, and sunset is beautiful, too!
The 2 weeks after spring break. You also don't want to stay in a cheap hotel. You wouldn't want to sleep in the beds or even walk on the floors. Don't drive, parking is terrible, go to Miami and fly down. Learn to snorkel or scuba dive if you don't know how (but have waterproof sunscreen on on your back and the back of your arms and legs. Go to the library and look up info on restaurants and places to see in the resource and travel sections. Be careful of some of the bars, try to find the best hurricane. Make sure you see Hemingway's house and his cats. Enjoy the seafood, try the mahi-mahi (pronounced ma hee - ma hee) and the natives. Also the architecture is fantastic.
Summer is not too bad either for decent prices. Be sure to eat at Pepe's Cafe and try the steak omlette, filled with filet mignon!

Can anyone recommend a decent hotel near Duval St in Key West.?

Wife and I are going to Key West in May and need a decent hotel, fairly priced and some attractions that you would recommend. Can anyone recommend a decent hotel near Duval St in Key West.?
As others have suggested, hotels here in Key West are very expensive, especially in tourist season. Look into the B %26amp; B's and you may find something less pricey. Everything is more expensive here in KW.

As for attractions, do the Old Town Trolley tour to get you started. It is an hour and a half, fully narrated, and will give you lots of ideas about what else you want to see and do, so do that early in your visit. Do the trolley, not the train. The trolley is a much better deal.

Check out the sunset or star gazing tours on a couple of the schooners at the waterfront. I did the Western Union (name of the schooner) star gazing tour last week, and it was impressive. An astronomer conducts the evening.

Visit Mallory Square at sunset for the sunset celebrations. It can be fun. Lots of different street entertainers and concessions.

If you like churches visit St. Paul's Episcopal Church (corner of Duval and Eaton) at noon for the free noon day pipe organ concert. It is very moving. And the stained glass windows in that church are wonderful.

Consider the glass bottomed boat tour. Many people rave about it. You'll see it advertised at the waterfront.

A couple of suggestions for restaurants - Blue Heaven (especially for breakfast), El Sibonay (not sure of the spelling) for the paella (you have to order 45 minutes before you want to eat) and sangria, Louie's Back Yard (reservations required), and if you like desserts try the dessert shop called Better Than Sex - expensive but very good (reservations also required).

Walk Duval Street for the many bars, restaurants, and shops. Visit Kermit's on Greene St. for key lime pie.

Enjoy Key West. Can anyone recommend a decent hotel near Duval St in Key West.?
To be honest many of the hotels on or near Duval St are overpriced. Depending on when your vacation is, if you have time to book ahead look into a bed and breakfast. Many have your own private cottage, breakfast every morning, and some even have a personal mini pool for the two of you. They are also very reasonable. Much less than a hotel in that area. Check out these websites for some ideas:

    1) http://www.keywestbandb.com/

    2) http://www.ambrosiakeywest.com/

    3) http://www.duvalinn.com/

    4) http://www.thegrandguesthouse.com/

    5) http://www.knowleshouse.com/

These are just to name a few. Dont forget you can also check reviews of them all online as well. Well Good Luck and enjoy!
I've stayed in Key West about 4-5 times. Hyatt, bed and breakfasts...etc. But, I think the best place for the price--was La Concha Inn. That was for our wedding. http://www.laconchakeywest.com/

I thought the pricing was reasonable. The hotel is nice. There was live music in the bar. There's a rooftop bar. I would stay there again.

We want to go to Key West this spring, any hotel/condo recommendations?

Is there a lot of different things to do? I'm going with my Mom and she likes the cultural stuff. I do too but not as much. I'm more into nightlife and the beach. Are any of the other keys nice as well and what are the beaches like in Key West?We want to go to Key West this spring, any hotel/condo recommendations?
We stayed in Simonton Court in Key West and really liked it .. It is quiet but close enough to the night life and Duval ... our story belowWe want to go to Key West this spring, any hotel/condo recommendations?
Key West isn't really known for beach life. It's more a night life kind of place. Every night is a Friday night. Check out La Concha Inn, it's in the middle of all the action, and affordable. We stayed there when we got married, and many of our guests did too. http://www.laconchakeywest.com/ If you want more upscale, try Casa Marina. If you want more low key, check out the bed and breakfast inns. Key West does have a lot of interesting things and history. Curry mansion, Audubon house, Hemingway's house....interesting churches. There is also a boat tour to the dry tortugas that might be fun. Rent some scooters or bikes to get around. Sunset is BEAUTIFUL...get to Mallory Square, enjoy the street entertainers...and relax. Lots of good places to eat...stay away from the commericial places like Hard Rock.

Again, don't waste your time on the beaches or snorkeling. There are better places for that.

Also, in the middle keys, there is a resort--Cheeca Lodge. http://www.cheeca.com/index.asp. It's in Islamorada, which isn't as WILD as Key West. Maybe 1.5-2 hour drive to Key West. It's less touristy....and more low-key.

  • Can anyone suggest an oceanfront hotel under $150/night in Miami and Key West?

We're a young couple going on vacation in October and have hard time finding a nice hotel to book up to $150/night for a couple of days in Miami and Key West. We're looking for an oceanfront.

Can anyone suggest other options instead of a hotel? I've herd of vacation homes and what are other options?

    Will really appreciate any suggestions.

YCan anyone suggest an oceanfront hotel under $150/night in Miami and Key West?
You can look for a rental home at these sites:

    www.vrbo.com

    www.vacationrentals.com

I have had great success renting apartments and condos with those sites and it's a pretty good deal if you are staying 1 or 2 weeks somewhere.

If you are only staying a few nights, go to www.hotwire.com. You will find oceanfront 4 star hotels that are under $150 a night. I have used the site to stay in Miami Beach in the past. Just be wary that each of these hotels charges a high rate for valet parking, so you might want to find a public garage to save some money if you are driving. Can anyone suggest an oceanfront hotel under $150/night in Miami and Key West?
When in October do you plan to travel. The weekend of the 8th all hotels are booked because of the Caribbean festival going on that weekend. (Goes on every year Columbus Day weekend)

As far as under $150 I suggest you do some research.

Check hotels.com, expedia.com, or google it.
You can try http://www.hotelbooklet.com which compares more than 30 popular hotel reservations sites and shows all available deals in Miami!

What is an inexpensive, yet clean/nice motel or hotel in Key West close to all the bars and shops?

I have been to Key West 7 times, most recently last month, and I always stay at the same place, the Best Western Hibiscus on United. The motel is very clean, the pool is awesome, it is one block from Duval Street and two blocks from the Southern Most Point. Now, as far as price is concerned it depends on what time of year you go. The BW has rates for as low as $79 a night in the slower season up to $300+ a night during Fantasy Fest. That is my choice for the best place to stay. What is an inexpensive, yet clean/nice motel or hotel in Key West close to all the bars and shops?

Can I walk or take a subway from 7th Ave & 28th St where my bus leaves me off to hotel at 119 West 56th St?

Well, it's around a mile and a half, which is walk-able, but not if you have suitcases.

Frankly, considering that suitcases are also a huge pain on the subway, what with all the stairs and the crowds, I suggest you grab a cab. It won't cost much at all for a short trip like that and it will be MUCH preferable to either walking OR the subway.

Just step off the curb, stick your hand up and wave at a yellow cab, get in, tell him the address you're going to, and sit back and enjoy the ride. Can I walk or take a subway from 7th Ave %26amp; 28th St where my bus leaves me off to hotel at 119 West 56th St?
Barbara, that's almost a mile and a half walk. Its best you take the subway, which will get you there in about 10 minutes. Here's how to get from 28th Street and 7th Avenue to Le Parker Maridien Hotel.

Step 1: at 7th Avenue and 28th Street, enter the 28th Street subway station and take the uptown (northbound) #1 local train (Red Line on the subway map) from 28th Street to Time Square-42nd Street.

Step 2: at Times Square, transfer upstairs to the ';N';, ';R';, ';Q'; or ';W'; trains (Yellow Line). Take the either uptown (northbound) train from Times Square to 57th Street.

Step 3: at 57th Street, exit the subway and walk a block south along 7th Avenue, from 57th to 56th Streets. Turn left on 56th Street and walks a half block west on 56th Street from 7th Avenue to the hotel.

The fare on the subway is $2.25 one way, regardless of distance. However, if you really want to save some money, an unlimited ride MetroCard will be very helpful. It will give you unlimited ride on the subway and bus system in the City. The card ranges in price from $8.25 for a 1-day Fun Pass to $51.50 for a 14-day unlimited ride pass.

I hope this information is very helpful. If you have any questions or need travel directions while in town, just drop me a line by clicking on the avatar and e-mail icon in the profile. I'll be glad to help.

How do i get from jfk airport to salisbury hotel in west 57th street via train %26amp; metro ?
My friend, here how to get from JFK to the Salisbury Hotel on West 57th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue.

    Step 1: take the JFK Airtrain from the terminal to Jamaica Station. Please listen for the announcement ';Station D: Jamaica Station.';

Step 2: at Jamaica Station, purchase your $7 MetroCard near the exit and exit the Airtrain system through the fare barrier machine, the machine will deduct $5 from the MetroCard. Once through, follow the directional signs to the elevator, which will take you down into the subway (metro).

Step 3: once in the metro, use the MetroCard one more time to pay the $2 fare on the metro. After going to through the turnstile in the metro, go downstairs and take the Manhattan-bound (westbound) ';E'; express train (Blue Line) from Jamaica Station to Queens Plaza.

Step 4: at Queens Plaza, transfer to the ';R'; local train (Yellow Line). Take the Manhattan-bound (westbound) train from Queens Plaza to 57th Street.

Step 5: at 57th Street, exit the subway and walk a half block west along 57th Street from the subway station to the Salisbury Hotel.

Anyone know the 500 West Hotel in San Diego? Is it safe...?

Is it safe for a single girl to stay there? I'm travelling by myself and I rather spend money shopping then in an expensive hotel. It would be for 3 nights. I read that it's a YMCA and that people live there is it true?Anyone know the 500 West Hotel in San Diego? Is it safe...?
Yeah, it's safe but I wouldn't walk around the neighborhood alone too late at night either. If you were with someone, or not out too late it would be ok. It's downtown, which has gotten a lot more gentrified in recent years, close, but not in the Gaslamp which would have enough traffic to make it a little safer walking around late at night. If I were you I'd feel ok there. Just don't walk around alone at night. Perfectly fine in the daytime...busy downtown.

This place use to be the Armed Services YMCA for servicemen who'd come to town in huge Navy ships and want to get off the ship for some fun downtown. The rooms are very small and it's communal bathrooms. It's very close to the train station which is not a good thing as it's very noisy from the trains. I'm a social worker and this type of hotel is known as a single resident occupied (SRO) hotel which is where lots of poor people on social security live. You will have lots of colorful neighbors and have to share the bathroom. But the worse part will be thin walls and lots of noise so bring earplugs. You get what you pay for. You'd be better off at a nicer hotel downtown but I realize these are several hundred a night and so again, you get what you pay for. I think they are outrageously expensive.

Visited London? Did you know no matter what expensive West End hotel you stay in the coffee is reheated?

its no secret, freely admitted by staff that the coffee is simply microwaved in the cafitiere and used again and again

maybe its the same in ManhattenVisited London? Did you know no matter what expensive West End hotel you stay in the coffee is reheated?
Well, most cafetieres have metal components which would spark badly in a microwave, so the whole jug is not likely to be put in. The coffee is probably filtered in a commercial machine and then left sitting on one of two hotplates until used. These hotplates might not be hot enough, so the staff give it a few minutes in the 'wave.

If in doubt ask for fresh coffee, or ask if it is filtered at all. It may be instant, put into a jug with hot water. Check to see if they have a proper coffee machine -a Gaggia or similar. These babies are so big you can see them from the street.

As someone who has stayed in many hotels in London and elsewhere, both in the UK and worldwide, I am afraid that your statement is a sweeping generaisation and is incorrect.

Sorry to disappoint you tourists who think the best of everything is in your home country, but there are some very high quality restaurants and hotels in London and the rest of the UK. Unfortunately there are some poor ones too, and the price and exterior of the establishment bears no relation to the quality of service or product you will receive.

The pressures to employ cheap labour from other countries can mean that you get the standards those people expect. No disrespect to them but, if the coffee is rotten in Albania, your Albanian waiter probably doesn't see what the fuss is about. He's getting minimum wage for a fifteen hour day and sending as much home to his wife as possible. (He probably drinks Turkish coffe from an ibrik and wonders why we like weak dish water!)

I lived in a hotel off Bedford Square for three weeks in 1985 and never ate there if I could help it. I once, at breakfast, had scrambled eggs with little bits of kipper through it, which flavoured the whole plate -yeuch! Down the road was a tiny cafe run by two Italians who would make me fresh coffee and toast while I sat and read the paper. They had no cooker but would scramble eggs with butter in a pot using the steam nozzle on their coffee maker -yummy!

I once walked out of a ';big West End hotel'; on Great Russell Street because I found cockroaches in my bathroom. The room was awful too, but the reception was very plush and grand. I decided that, if the 'roaches were in my first floor room, they were in the kitchen too!

There are however plenty of good staff and well run hotels which care about the service they give. The New Barbican Hotel on Central Street used to be one such. The Tower hotel at Tower Bridge had mainly good staff too, although I did once spend ten minutes trying to convince the receptionist that being Scottish didn't mean that I had to hand over my passport!

Costa Coffee and Starbucks are all over the place now, but Pizza Express do good coffee. MacDonalds in the UK used to do good stuff, but now use a dispensing machine which isn't so nice. I would like to be able to make a generalisation like ';all Italian restraurants are good'; or something similar, but I well remember at least one which was awful, despite the majority being excellent.

Round theatre land they cater for repeat customers, so might be expected to have decent standards.Visited London? Did you know no matter what expensive West End hotel you stay in the coffee is reheated?
hmm. i had some coffee in a five star hotel today, tho not in london and it was lousy.same the world over?they very kindly changed it and brought me some fresher stuff ,no doubt after having added some embellishments of their own.
It麓s a matter of fact, that normally coffee isn麓t feshly brewed from fresh beans in London (and the States). Even the self-made-coffee in the room is better than the one in the restaurant of the most hotels. But nevertheless there are many good coffee shops all around, which couldn麓t exist without the bad coffee in the hotels ;-)

Whats a better hotel to stay in? The Atlantis or Grosvenore west marina?

Are they close to each other?

    its for 2 adults only.

And how far away are they from mall of the emirates and dubai mall?Whats a better hotel to stay in? The Atlantis or Grosvenore west marina?
You will need to taxi it from Atlantis to Grosvenor. Its not that far, Atlantis is on the top of the Palm but Grosvenor is in Marina so its a short taxi ride. Mall of Emirates and Dubai Mall are easy to get to from both, just down Sheik |Zayed Road, any taxi driver can take you and it won't cost that much. Grosvenor house is gorgeous, love the restaurants and bars. Haven't stayed in Atlantis but I am sure it is superb. Either one is fantastic, can't go wrong.Whats a better hotel to stay in? The Atlantis is absolutely beautiful... the lost chamber will be free for hotel guest... and the aqua adventure is amazing... The mall of emirates is not far away... but going to the dubai mall will be expsnisive... there is oasis center and other malls in the middle...

    Hello Friend...

So you want to know about cheapest hotels to stay in Key West..
I recommend the Southern Cross. The location is FANTASTIC, it's right on Duval Street. It's a small hotel with not really any amenities, and the rooms are pretty small, but during our stay there the rooms were very clean and the staff were quite helpful. They don't have a pool but there is a bar down the street that actually has a public pool and there are public beaches. If you're just looking for a clean room to sleep in and a fantastic location I think this hotel would be great.

Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Hotel in Hollywood or West Hollywood for vacation?

I'm debating between staying at the Ramada in West Hollywood or the Ramada in Hollywood. The price/night in West Hollywood is around 2x the cost. Is this worth it? My plans for the trip are visiting the beach, going to bars/clubs, eating at nice restaurants, and so on. I will be renting a car, but at night, it would be nice to be able walk, take public transportation, or an affordable cab ride to/from the drinkin establishments.Hotel in Hollywood or West Hollywood for vacation?
Stay in Hollywood, not West Hollywood. West Hollywood has a wide variety of homosexual clubs to pick from, whereas Hollywood has a variety of clubs. So if you are homosexual then West Hollywood is a good place for you. .Hotel in Hollywood or West Hollywood for vacation?
I'm familiar with that Ramada in Hollywood. I don't know if the Ramada in WeHo is worth paying twice as much, but the one in Hollywood should definitely be avoided. Sometimes going cheap can ruin your whole vacation.

If you want to go to WeHo, I usually recommend the Best Western Sunset Plaza, which is a nice place in a nice location. You're on the Sunset Strip, which has plenty of clubs and restaurants. For Hollywood, I recommend the Renaissance (very nice hotel), Holiday Inn Walk of Fame (moderately priced), or the Hollywood Celebrity (budget). These 3 hotels are centrally located near Hollywood Blvd and Highland Ave, which is the heart of Hollywood. You also have immediate access to the Metro Red Line subway, which can take you downtown or the Universal Studios.

    Have fun!
I would not stay at the Ramada in Hollywood. West Hollywood is a better area. It is indeed home to the gays, but there's A LOT of other stuff going on there, and it is SAFE SAFE SAFE. People pay a lot of money to live in West Hollywood. It is clean, safe and fun.
Sounds like with your agenda a hotel that costs twice as much is a waste of time.

Spend that money on your vacation, not somewhere you're sleeping for a few hours.
The Renaissance Hotel will be your best choice. Located right next to the Hollywood %26amp; Highland mall so you can do some shopping and they have some great restaurants! And most of the clubs/bars are a block or two away.
If you want to stay in Hollywood look at the Hollywood Hills Hotel and/or The Magic Castle.
unless youre gay then dont stay in west hollywood its a prodominately gay area

From the hotel, you can walk two blocks north along Broadway to Columbus Circle and take downtown (southbound) #1, ';A'; or ';C'; subway lines (Red and Blue Lines) from there to 34th Street-Penn Station.

Once at 34th Street-Penn Station, follow the direction signs leading you to MSG.

What are the best romantic hotel/restaurants in south West England?

Its my 10 year wedding anniversary coming up next February.

Can you recommend a top quality hotel with fine dining (or near to a good restaurant) in south west england (no more than about an hour and a half from Bristol - so north Devon, somerset, wiltshire, glos, north dorset).

I agree about Gidley Park in Chagford. We had a cream tea there recently - very special. If that's a little too expensive, I can recommend Prince Hall Hotel on Dartmoor - a intimate family run hotel in fantastic surroundings.

  • Family trip to Toronto, with kids 8 and 6 years old where to go and Delta West Hotel any good ?

Montana's steakhouse in Toronto? near Delta hotel as i cant remember which Delta hotel had a Montana Steakhouse right next store in walking distance. Thank youFamily trip to Toronto, with kids 8 and 6 years old where to go and Delta West Hotel any good ?
The hotel with the Montana's steakhouse right next door is the Delta Toronto Airport West. However, if you go a few miles further west on Highway 401 to Erin Mills Parkway, there is the Delta Meadowvale Resort. It is often cheaper than or same price as the Airport location, but has much bigger rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, and other facilities, so it is a better hotel all around.

As for parking charges, you can expect to pay anywhere from $6 to $12 a day near the airport, while downtyown hotels charge as much as $25 to $30 a day, on top of their usually much higher room rates!Family trip to Toronto, with kids 8 and 6 years old where to go and Delta West Hotel any good ?
Delta is good, the one near the airport is located in the middle of several good places to eat.
Paramount Canada's wonderland, Ontario Place, Centre Island, CN tower, Niagara falls is 1 hour drive ( Clifton Hill, marineland, Maid of the mist ). can't speak to the Delta west, have only stayed at the Delta chelsea downtown
Delta hotels are generally great for kids with their water slides and pools. The Delta West is close to the airport, which is further away from most downtown tourist attractions. You may want to look into the Downtown Delta. There are lots of family-friendly restaurants and steak houses all over the GTA, and a lot within walking distance of a downtown hotel.

Downtown Summer Attractions: Art Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, Harbourfront, CN Tower, Eaton Centre, the Beaches (Queen Street East) and more. The Science Centre, The Toronto Zoo and Canada's Wonderland are also popular sites which may require a car as they are further out.

When you are planning your activities in the city, check out the events calendar at www.kiddingaroundtoronto.com. I use it to plan weekends for my family in the city.

    Have a great stay.
I tould try to stay in more of a downtown Toronto hotel.

The Delta Chelsie is great, or the Sheraton Centre. They are more expensive but you will save on gas/parking ($20.00/day) to enter the city.

Definately look into the bus tours in Toronto - they have hop on/hop off tours.

The best sites are Toronto Island/Waterfront area, CN Tower, Skydome, Rom, Art Gallery, Casa Loma, Science Center, etc.
Delta is a great hotel, and you are right in the centre of all the action.

Some great place to take the kids are Canada's Wonderland. You can buy tickets for cheap at any Pharma Plus, or Pizza Pizza. Don't buy your tickets at the gate, or you will pay a fortune.

The Ex is really good this time of year, as well as the CN tower, as long as you aren't afraid of heights.

You can also go to the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum), it is amazing, but you need a good day there.

The Science Museum is really good for kids between 6 and 12, and isn't that expensive.

Toronto has some amazing places to visit. So enjoy your time. If you have more than a few days, Niagara Falls is just a couple hours drive away!

Have Fun, Ontario is a beautiful province, especially when you leave the city for a few hours.

Set in the middle of large parkland, part of which is a golf course and includes an area of woodland. Very quiet and secluded.
Try Onich hotel near Fort William. Its not in the town, and has superb views. Its right on the beach - loch linhe.

Or if you need a few things to do, try in Oban, such as Caledonian hotel overlooking the harbour, or the Columba.

I would like to take her to Iona and Barra too!
The Corriegour Lodge near Fort William is lovely... very romantic rooms and the view is stunning. Staff is friendly. Food is the best I've had anywhere in Scotland.

The thing is my lady and I are coming around Columbia,SC and I wanted to know if any hotels have jacuzzi rooms and are pet friendly. Please help, this is a hard one.Looking for a hotel that has a jacuzzi room in West Columbia, SC?
Well I don't live in Columbia but I did some quick research and a found only one, but whether the room is open for the night you want is a mystery to me. If you can't get the room online I recommend calling them up and they might be able to hook you up and also to double check that pets are allowed, here it is:

Is K West Hotel in London dodgy?

My Boyfriend has spoken to someone who knows London well and people that have stayed there, and reckons there's some funny goings on there? Is K West Hotel in London dodgy?
Not rated well on reviews ('a 4 star hotel, but it's more like in the 3 star catagory and charging 5 star prices') and the area is one well known for escort services working from small flats. But you will survive. Is K West Hotel in London dodgy?

Here are reviews from people who have stayed there. Sounds like it's trying to be pretentious and just coming off as rude.
I stayed there. It is fine, all white furniture and quite trendy with a nice bar. It is also close to the new gigantic mall Westfield

Toronto Pearson Airport to West Inn Harbor Castle Hotel?

    Hey!

Will be in Toronto tomorrow and would just like to take the train or the buss from the Airport to the Hotel (West Inn Harbor Castle) instead of paying the ridiculous amount in Cab fees. The hotel does not offer complementary shuttle (that's $40) while I know the train/buss would cost less then $5. Could you please tell me the trains and buses I would have to take from the airport?

Thanks a bunch!Toronto Pearson Airport to West Inn Harbor Castle Hotel?
Just want to say that the $40 is well worth it when you find yourself sitting on a packed bus stuck in traffic, stopping everywhere and taking over 90 minutes to get to the Westin.Toronto Pearson Airport to West Inn Harbor Castle Hotel?
If you don't want to pay the fare for the Airport Express Bus, you will have to take the Toronto Transit Commission bus, as there is NO train service at the airport. Take the Airport Rocket bus to the Kipling subway station, ride the subway east to St. George, change to the University line to Union station, transfer to the Harbourfront Light Rapid Transit to Queens Quay (first stop), climb the stairs and walk one block with all your baggage. This will take about 90-120 minutes depending on time of day, and will involve going up or down stairs four times. I strongly recommend the Airport Express, which runs directly to downtown in a modern highway coach, air conditioned, and the Westin Harbour Castle (not ';West Inn';) is the first stop. Just walk straight out the door on the arrivals level of the airport and the bus stop is clearly marked.
You could try Airport Express (www.torontoairportexpress.com) which will take you directly to the Westin Harbour Castle for about $20 and will take about 30 minutes. Public transit will take forever - not recommended.
