I love visiting London, but as I still haven't managed to give up the ciggies, I'd like to find out which hotels still let you smoke in your room.
I've looked but can't find any sites that make it clear about their smoking policy.
I'd be grateful for anyone's help...thank you.Does anyone know a website recommending smoker-friendly hotels in London's West End area?
The Choice Hotel Chain has smoking rooms (which includes Comfort Inn, and Sleep Inn hotels), plus also the Holiday Inn chain too.
Take a look at the links below and they'll provide you with a good choice of london ';smoking hotels';.Does anyone know a website recommending smoker-friendly hotels in London's West End area?
even if there is a non smoking policy you can smoke in a room .Take a plastic bag, wrap around smoke detector on the ceiling and secure with either one of your tights,a piece of string or an elastic band.Or at booking point see if you can request a smoking room.I asked this question recently in a hotel and was told, right or wrong, that when I rent the room it is my room and not a public place .
no where!!
its illegal to smoke in an enclosed public place, in including train stations, so ull onli be able to smoke outside
Yes you CAN smoke in hotel rooms - they are not covered by the public places rule. Just ask at the hotel. My Mum stayed in one recently where she could smoke but I can't remember the name - it may have been The Holiday Inn or something similar.
You can smoke in hotel rooms, if they have the appropriate ventillation system. Therefore you are more likely to get smoking rooms in the more modern hotels.
The Grange Holborn, Travelodge Marylebone and Danubius Regents Park have smoker rooms. Travelodge plan to go all no smoking next year
I thought the smoking ban meant no smoking in hotel rooms either?
hurry you wont find any after 2008, its illegal from then
Smoke out the window! Lol (sorry)
Most hotels will let you smoke in the rooms and will ask you for your preference at check in. If they didn't do this, they would loose a lot of business [ as much as i don't like smoking - sorry :) ]
A good site to obtain bargains and a directory listing is Cheaperthanhotels - http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Unite鈥?/a>
There is a section where you can add your special requests on payment check out, and if you get into trouble there is a customer service help desk that you can call by phone to help you out.
Try this website, if you can find any of your choice

they offer designated smoking and non smoking rooms. nearest one will probably be oxford circus.
newgran - the new law states it's illegal to smoke in a public place or workplace - so that's offices, public houses, bars, stations etc. a hotel room is not a public place, although it does form part of a workplace.
and to those of you who think you can just smoke in a non-smoking room - holiday inn will charge you 拢100 to cover cleaning costs to remove the smell of smoke.
You won't find any.
its illegal to smoke in any public place in the Uk
Scotland have had it since March 06
England had it in July this year and Ireland the year before Scotland.
