How much would a 6 seater taxi from NY JFK Airport to the Da Vinci Hotel on 244 West 56th Street cost me?

It's a flat fare of $45.00 plus any tolls to get to the Da Vinci Hotel. If you request multiple stops, (say to stop at a bank to get some cash) the flat rate of $45.00 will be collected at the first stop then the meter will be turned on for the remainder of the trip.

Also, New York has seat belt laws and so for safety reasons, you will need TWO taxis (if you have 5 or more pass.) and that will cost 90.00 plus tolls, etc.

Even though you could squeeze in, remember you will have luggage too that won't fit in the trunk.

There's the Shuttle if you want to avoid the trains.

Limo/car service can be pricey but you may benefit by being together and have only ONE set of toll fees plus they the driver will often meet you at baggage claims and can often provide assistance with your heavy luggage.

To start, there is no such thing as a 6-passenger (7 including driver) yellow taxi in NYC, UNLESS the 6th passenger is under the age of seven and sits on an adult passenger's lap on the back seat of what would ordinarily be a 5-passenger cab. If everyone is age seven or older, you can't fit everyone into the same yellow cab.

If you can fit everyone, it's $45, plus tip and tolls. It's a flat rate of $45 from JFK to Manhattan; all days, all times. Never changes.

Another viable option is the AirTrain ($5) from JFK to Jamaica, and then the E subway ($2) from Jamaica to 7th Avenue (and 53rd Street), walking from there. You can also transfer from the E to the R at Queens Plaza, and take the R to 57th Street, walking about a block from there.

EDIT: No, we did not say take the subway to JFK. We said take the AirTrain from JFK, and get the frequently-running, inexpensive, and highly convenient subway from there, which is a well-used route for air travelers, which does not get stuck in traffic, with escalators and elevators available at JFK and Jamaica to assist in transfers. That said, airport shuttle alternatives are a viable option, especially with that many people; cost difference from mass transit is not all that high for that large a group. If I was traveling alone, I would almost certainly go AirTrain-subway or AirTrain-LIRR depending on where I want to go.
My friend, for this amount of people, my advice take the subway. Its cheaper and there is plenty of room for 6 people. Here's how to get from JFK to the Da Vinci Hotel.

Step 1: take the Airtrain from terminal to Jamaica Station. Please listen for the announcement ';Station D: Jamaica Station.';

Step 2: at Jamaica Station, transfer to the New York City Subway. Take the Manhattan-bound (westbound) ';E'; train (Blue Line) from Jamaica Station to Queens Plaza.

Step 3: at Queens Plaza, transfer across the platform to the ';R'; train (Yellow Line). Take the Manhattan-bound train from Queens Plaza to 57th Street.

Step 4: at 57th Street, exit the subway and walk a block south along 7th Avenue, from the subway station to 56th Street. At 56th Street, turn right and walk a block west along 56th Street from 7th Avenue to Broadway. The Da Vinci is on the corner of 56th Street and Broadway.

Please note, the fare on the Airtrain and subway is $7 a person ($5 a person to for the Airtrain and $2 a person for the subway). You will have to purchase a MetroCard at the vending machines at Jamaica Station in order to exit the Airtrain there.

I hope this information is very helpful.

Good luck and enjoy you trip.

perhaps the option that might work best for you is one of the shared van services. AirLink and Super shuttle.(the blue vans). AirLink will allow you to make reservations and if you make them on line the cost is 18 per person( plus gratuity for driver), still a good deal and probably easier if you have luggage. downside, depending on the time of day you can get stuck in traffic so be sure to make a bathroom stop in the airport, just incase
Did someone say take the subway to JFK???? geezus
