I live in Glasgow %26amp; I'm thinking of taking a trip to London primarily to go to the West End to see a show. Which area should I be looking for a hotel in so that I am not too far from the theatres %26amp; which airport should I fly to?London airport %26amp; hotels closest to West End?
It really is dependent on your budget. Hotels even a small distance from the West End tend to be 拢90 upwards. By going out (a 15 minute tube ride) to the likes of Finsbury Park prices drop significantly. As for airports, if you choose Finsbury Park then Stansted is the best bet. Train to Tottenham Hale which has a direct tube link to Finsbury Park on the Victoria Line. The West End is around 15 minutes or so further on the same tube line (Warren Street at the top end of Tottenham Court Road).London airport %26amp; hotels closest to West End?
For the West End its probably best to stay in the Victoria, Covent Garden or Park Lane areas but anywhere central is good really as you can easily get a bus/ the underground/ walk - I know for example that there are cheaper hotels around Euston, Kings Cross and St Pancras stations and also in Kensington both of which are a short journey to the area where the theatres are.
Airport-wise theres not much in it - Stansted, Luton, Heathrow, City and Gatwick all have good tranport links to central London. It might however be easier to get a train because it will take you directly to the centre of London
